Pink Teddy Bear

A pink teddy bear can be an appealing product for a variety of different reasons. In the western world, the color has traditionally been associated with femininity. For that reasons, these items are very popular purchase for younger girls. Of course, this is a more recent traditional association which developed during the 1940s. From the twenty years prior to that, it was associated with boys. Before that time, it did not have any associations of gender tied to it.

Another reason for which a pink teddy bear may be desirable is because of the association of the color with the awareness-spreading movement about breast cancer. It was during the 1990s that the color became associated with the movement. Today, the pink ribbon now has international significance as a symbol of breast cancer awareness.

A pink teddy bear may also be given as a symbol of love or romance. This is particularly true around the holiday of Valentine's day. Hearts will often be incorporated into the design to emphasize the point. Still, plenty of people also purchase these products for themselves or others simply out of appreciated for the color.
